Professor Emeritus Naokata Ishii of the University of Tokyo has been appointed as an advisor to the Japanese Society of Functional Foot and Toe Therapy (President: Yoshiro Yuasa).

We are pleased to announce that the Japanese Society of Functional Foot and Toe Therapy, of which Keiro Yuasa is the president, has welcomed Professor Emeritus Naokata Ishii of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences of the University of Tokyo as its advisor.

I have had the pleasure of working with Professor Emeritus Naokata Ishii, a leading expert in muscle research, at the University of Tokyo. Slo-Train" (slow training), developed with an aging society in mind, is a scientific training program that can train muscles at 30% of their maximum strength. Hironoba Gymnastics" and "Throat Training" go very well together and can be performed anytime, anywhere, by anyone, and easily.

The Japanese Society of Functional Foot and Ankle Therapy will conduct joint research with Professor Emeritus Naokata Ishii for the further spread and development of "Hironoba Gymnastics," and will aim to return academic achievements to human society by addressing social issues such as extending healthy life expectancy, improving QOL for the disabled, and improving athletes' performance in a cross-disciplinary way. We will continue to contribute to human society through our academic achievements.

Professor Emeritus Naokata Ishii

Born in Tokyo, 1955. Graduated from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, University of Tokyo, and completed the doctoral course at the same university. D. in Science. He has served as Professor at the University of Tokyo and Director of the Research Center for Advanced Sports Science at the University of Tokyo, and is currently Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo. Specializes in physical exercise science, muscle physiology, and training science. He is a leading authority on muscle research. He has been active as a bodybuilder and powerlifter since his student days, and boasts a brilliant record of achievements, including winning the Japan Bodybuilding Championships and placing third at the World Championships. Developer of "Slo-Train," which requires little exercise to achieve great results. He is well known for his clear explanations about the relationship between exercise and muscles, aging, and health, and is a spark plug for the current muscle training boom.
